Exercise 2 weeks post hysterectomy

Well my fellow sisters I am almost 2 weeks post op I today I have started walking again I did 1 mile this morning and it felt great. I will stick with a mile all week and next week I will go back to my 2 mile walk 5× a week .

I am almost 2 weeks post op and seriously out of shape due to not "feeling" good for quite sometime before surgery....I was wondering what would be a good exercises to start out with...any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I am determined to lose atleast the 30 pounds I have put on in the last year.

I would start out with walking it low impact and you can do it at your own pace and work your way up. I lost 40lb.just by walking and eating healthy.

I have also gone back to exercising by walking one mile each morning. My surgery was May 29th, vaginal hysterectomy with no laparoscope so I have no external stitches. I walked very slowly yesterday and will push myself just a tad more today while also listening to my body. Hope to be doing Zumba again in a few more weeks!!

Thank y'all for the replys....I'm fixing to leave for my two week check up...hopefully all is well. I feel really good. Lots if energy at times so I'm hoping to take advantage of that energy. Happy healing to all!

at two weeks mainly walking is good. You really shouldn't be doing any exercise that engages your abs. I was in pretty good shape before surgery muscle wise, I teach pole dancing an average of 4 hours a day (some more some less) and my dr told me NOTHING more then walking. I'm at 6 weeks and was cleared by her to start back regular activites.

Excellent! My doctor said I could resume careful walks at two weeks, but I'm waiting an extra day since my follow-up is tomorrow and I'm just being overcautious. I can't wait to build back up to my 3 miles a day I was doing pre-surgery.
