4 days post hysterectomy- Dizziness

i had a TVH on Wednesday, ovaries taken as well, and I am so dizzy. My pain isn't too bad today, just crampy and some gas. Yesterday I was useless, think I over did it day before. I was dizzy yesterday too but figured it was because of all my up and down the day before. So rest all day yesterday, I only took 2 pain pills along with ibuprofen and today the world spins. I took my ibuprofen this morning but no pain pills. Any ideas ladies? All thoughts welcomed!

Re: 4days po - Dizziness

Pain meds can cause dizziness. You mention the world spinning which sounds like vertigo. You do want to be careful though and talk to you doctor if it continues.

Re: 4days po - Dizziness

I had the same thing. My doctor have me Zofran to help. It did work for me. My doctor also told me to make sure I was eating a full meal when I took pain meds. My dizziness and nausea went away after a couple of days.

Re: 4 days post hysterectomy- Dizziness

I was a little light headed for a few days, even though I didn't take any narcotics. I wasn't sure if it was after effects of anesthesia, because I really hadnt eaten in 3 days, or maybe I was a little dehydrated from the bowel prep. But it did go away by a week or so. I did make an effort to eat a lot of protein and drink lots of water.
