woa...what happened?

Ok, Sisters, I am now feeling more like I may be "normal" after all.....I had a Subtotal Hyst 8/30-kept both ovaries and cervix. I've been feeling very lucky to have found this website AND have been really feeling great, UNTIL this morning..OK, really afternoon by the time I decided to actually get out of bed and function. I'm feeling totally lost with regard to my emotions and level of giving a goshdarn deal bout much today. I feel sluggish, blue ..just overall down and out. Physically, feeling ouchy, but nothing specific. What's up with this attitude?! Usually, I'm Ms Optomistic and quick to get on with life. Today, I just can't shake this HOhum/who cares/I'm going to go back to bed-and-hybernate feeling. Help?

woa...what happened?

I have days like that over the past 2 weeks or so. It comes and goes. A lot of us had so much happen prior to our hyst that we wanted to have the surgery and have it all be over w/. Then after our hyst we realize that it is going to take time to heal and that it's not a quick-fix, so to speak. That plus the hormones makes us blah feeling. It will go away. It's just a slow process.

Good luck sisters!

Your body still might be in schock, or should I say your ovaries? It can take awhile for them to kick back in. Maybe that is why your feeling kinda blue.

Time...

Ladies,

I'm five months post-op and I still have some of those days..I was lucky enough to keep one ovary, but the first couple of weeks it was like it wasn't working. My doctor says that the remaining ovary wasn't "awake" yet and that it would take a couple of weeks for it to start functioning the way it did prior to having surgery. The other day I woke up thinking, "I can't believe I don't have a uterus!". I guess it's the fact that I had it done when I was 28, and haven't had kids is what makes it kind of unbelievable even now. But it does get better and you'll find yourself thinking about it less and less as time goes on. I wish you all the best of luck.
