My date is scheduled for Tues. July 8th-I am taking Vita E and soy isoflavins (along w/calcium) 2-3 times per day. Is this ok? I don't get in to see the Dr. until July 2nd for the lovely Q-tip test and get all my questions answered/ any info or experience would be appreciated! Thanks
scheduled for TAH, cystocele, rectocele repair, TVT bladder suspension-(ouch!)

herbs/vitamins to stop before surgery?

(((((((cynlynns)))))))))

The list of herbs is among the tips in the first thread of the pre op message boards. Just click on it like any thread and then scroll a ways to find it.

You do need to stop all asprin products 2 weeks before surgery.
This includes motrin, anaprox etc. Use only tylenol based products pre op.

Hope this helps you.

Best wishes,

Pamcat

herbs/vitamins to stop before surgery?

Hi cynlynns To be safe, I'd give your DR a call on this one. Every DR has his or her preferences about what vitamins or herbs you can or should take. Mine told me to stop all Vitamin C, Vitamin E, aspirin and ibuprofen two weeks before my surgery; other have been allowed to continue on all of them.

herbs/vitamins to stop before surgery?

Thanks,
I have to call the DR office today anyways and get pre-op info for my work disabilty etc taken care of, so I will ask his nurse; he has been out on vacation for two weeks. This has been scheduled since May, but have not seen DR since then-I am getting down to the last 2 weeks, and have been getting scared of it all! My nerves are on end, I am smoking more instead of less, and am getting freaked out!
This site has helped so much, the herbs not to take link didn't indicate anything about Vita E, etc-which I have been taking for over 2 years to help w/hot flashes-I have been through an early natural menopause (it has been over 2 1/2 yrs)-so it is hard to believe I am having hysterectomy now after all the years of fighting the perimenopause, HRT to get through it, etc!
