Unhappy - Feeling hormonal and down :( Feeling hormonal and down :(

I'm 44 and just over 3 months post op and I kept my ovaries. I am just not feeling like myself and I'm not sure if it's normal at this point and I should wait it out or if I need to make an appointment with my doctor. I'm feeling really down and unhappy, hot flashes are killing me and just forget about any sort of sex life lol. Lord have mercy I wasn't prepared for all this. I thought since I kept my ovaries everything would be the same as before except no bleeding. Any advice would be appreciated

Re: Feeling hormonal and down :(

The question is not whether this is normal or not, but can your doctor help you. The only way to find out is schedule an appointment. I encourage you to seek treatment for what are very unpleasant life altering symptoms. Good luck.

Hello tracylynn72

I am sorry to hear that you are doing through this. When was the last time you visited with your doctor…? Chances are (and given your symptoms of hormonal imbalance ) you might want to get an appointment scheduled. S/he will be able to run hormone and thyroid testing to find out what your levels are. This will also give you then chance to ask questions on if you need HRT or even an HRT alternative.

Personally, it took mine over a little over 4 plus months along with taking Evening Primrose Oil once a day before they settled down.

Create a journal of your symptoms so you have feedback when talking to your doctor. Also discuss if food choices with plant estrogens and/or soy-if you can take it- may be helpful too.

It could be that your ovaries just need a little more time or simply an extra nudge.

Please let us know what the doctor says sweetie.

Re: Feeling hormonal and down :(

Hi Lisa!! Thank you so much for your response! I've decided if I don't feel any better by the end of the week I'll call my dr and make an appointment with her. I can tell by the breast tenderness that it's pms time. Maybe I should have gotten rid of those ovaries after all lol.

I LOVE your idea of keeping a journal. I'm going to start doing that right away and I'm also going to look into Evening Primrose Oil, I've heard of it but never really checked into it too much.

Thanks again for all your suggestions I truly appreciate them!

Hugs,
Tracy
