Upcoming hysterectomy 12/19: Crying - normal???

OmG this morning I was in tears - and I don't know why!!! I am suppose to have hysterectomy on the 19th could it be nerves? I want the hysterectomy but I have NEVER had surgery and I am concerned with that. I had a VERY BAD experience with laughing gas which I have been told is completely different and not to worry. Yeah well guess what I worry! I am worried something will happen and the 19th is my Daughter's birthday what if I ruin her birthday forever? Ugh I don't know just been crying for no reason. I don't know. Also, my insurance is still "pending" according to the milly mouse woman who schedules the surgeries. So I am concerned that we will have to put off the surgery AGAIN! I don't know I am excited to not hurt anymore, to not have horrible long periods and to be able to live without rearranging everything because of my period! Thanks for reading at least I got it out lol

Re: Crying - normal???

I had the same thing. However I broke down at the Dr. Office. I think she was afraid to proceed at first. Lol. It is a very emotional time and allow yourself to feel that. Good luck! Take a deep breath and focus on the positives.

Hi,
You're my "sister-sister!!" I have my hysterectomy on the 19th also. I have been crying for no reason for the last two days. I'm so tired of the prepping and preparing I just want this to be over, but still so much to do. Just remember to rest, relax and breathe. You'll be just fine. I'll be thinking of you ♡

Re: Upcoming hysterectomy 12/19: Crying - normal???

You are under very high stress right now. I think it is perfectly normal to cry a lot.

About the laughing gas - it isn't anything like the anesthesia used for surgery. But, if you are concerned about anything about your anesthesia talk to your anesthesiologist before your surgery about it. They can calm your fears and give medications based on your information.

Remember your goal of getting rid of painful and heavy periods. To get your life back. For me that has happened and does for many of us. I feel younger and can do things I never could do because of pain and misery before. Remind yourself of this often.

Hang in there. Praying for you right now.

Re: Upcoming hysterectomy 12/19: Crying - normal???

I'm not sure which post I'm replying to but my surgery is on the19th at 9:30 am and I am in a state of panic and doubt! I couldn't sleep all night last night couldn't eat today I almost called and cancelled the whole thing this morning. I've been calling my surgeons office all day with stupid questions. I'm sure they are ready sick of me
I keep going to the worst case senerio likes it's the only thing that WILL happen instead of focusing on believing everything will be fine.
I realized because I went through 2 breast cancer surgeries last year maybe I didn't deal with loosing a breast and now I will be loosing more body parts even though it's my choice and I feel it's the right path. My practical side seems at odds with my emotions. I'm just going to do what all you other ladies have done put one foot in front of the other and stay the course. Please help me pray for our December 19th surgeries we all need outcomes to be great for our kids and our families!

Re: Upcoming hysterectomy 12/19: Crying - normal???

My total hysterectomy is the 19th also. Haven't been crying, but more like moody from nerves lol. I think it's common for our nerves to get the best of us. Best wishes & prayers for our upcoming surgeries. God bless!
