Hysterectomy brought forward (2/10) and now i want to cancel

Went and saw my gynae today for preop and surgery was brought forward three days to the 10th February. I felt fine, still anxious but OK but then was made to pay a non refundable $350 booking fee which prevents people from cancelling. All it's done is made me feel so trapped and overwhelmed and every negative feeling I have had is just smothering me. I feel so so sick, I don't know if this is anxiety but so many times I've picked up the phone to cancel. I don't know what to do

YOU GOT THIS! trust your doc, and trust your body! a few months (or weeks) of healing is nothing compared to what could be lifetime of pain from an angry uterus. just reassure yourself that this is a need (b/c it is). and know that the people that love and support you are there for you and love you no matter what!

Thanks ladies, I feel much better today, it just seemed so overwhelming yesterday.
My biggest fear is that I will regret it because of future children, even though right now it is not even on my radar!

Re: Hysterectomy brought forward and now i want to cancel

It's normal to feel anxious and nervous. I almost forgot to schedule my pre OP bloodwork and I thought it was my subconscious trying to sabotage my surgery. The pain post OP goes away and you'll be feeling better in just a few weeks. Rest a lot and let your body heal itself. Try to get a good nights sleep 2 nights before the surgery because you may be a little too anxious to sleep well the night before. I'm sure this wasn't an easy decision for you to make, but know that if you're experiencing problems with fibroids/uterus, etc, then the surgery will make it better.

I Am still in hospital recovering from surgery. I was like you before my surgery. I had to pay $2450 up front! The admin made me feel like I was going to skip out. I wanted to cancel but i went ahead with it. I was terrified. They found a lot wrong inside me. Now looking back, this surgery was absolutely necessary. The recovery is a *****. I had to have a blood transfusion. But I am so glad that I have that terrible mess taken out!
