3 weeks post-hysterectomy and bleeding

I'm 3 weeks post-op full hysterectomy and I've been lightly spotting since surgery pink and brownish, this morning I woke up and I'm lightly bleeding and it's actually red, not the pink or brown. Should I be concerned?

At about 3-4 weeks is when the stitches begin to dissolve. It could be that is what is going on with you. I have a cuff, and my doctor told me it would be normal to bleed or have discharge for 6 weeks post-hysterectomy, and I did. However, if you are bleeding a lot, you might want to check in with your doc. Also if you are doing a bit too much or not resting enough, it might cause you to bleed. If you have doubts, call the doc.
