Surgical Glue

My follow-up isn't scheduled until week 4, so I did give my doc a call today. I woke up this AM and found the largest scar (on the left where they chopped and removed) was kind of open. You couldn't see anything inside my gut, but the little scab had come off and the skin wasn't holding together. There is Dermabond around it but not ON it anymore....Anyway, they told me to clean with 50/50 water/hydrogen peroxide 'around' the wound, not in it and told me again to rest, rest, rest. No vacuuming etc. Well, I haven't vacuumed and I am taking it easy. The only thing I am doing is having to bend over to feed my dogs and to put the leash on one of them to go out to the potty. My daughter is 20 and living on her own now...my help was only here for 4 days post-op, so I am on my own. I'm only doing the minimum, believe me. Oh, well. Keep ya posted.

Surgical Glue

I am only 9 days out and had been glued, also. I love it so far. It hasn't itched or anything--pulls a little when I do something stupid. I have been taking it easy, too--only bending down to feed my cat (bending my knees, then going down), but only have to use a 1/2cup of food to feed her, when dish is empty. DH and son have been doing it all. I hope things keep going so well. Just hang in there Sue.

Is there friends/neighbors you could call to help out?

Surgical Glue

I had the glue for my TAH BSO, which I appreciated since I wasn't too thrilled about getting staples or sutures. I did develop an infection on the right side of the incision, but with the help of antibiotics it has healed nicely. Given a choice in the event of other surgeries, I would definitely take the glue over other methods.
