Pelvic spasms

I had a total vag hyst on the 11th. Prior to surgery I also experienced spasms in my pelvic area. They radiate down my legs. At night while I sleep they would go away until I got up in the morning. I was hoping that with my surgery and bladder sling and posterior repair this would have taken care of this problem. Now 5 days after surgery, I still have the spasms and no relief at all. I did tell my dr that I still was having the spasms. She will have to refer me to another dr, but I'm not sure when that will be. Do I need to wait until the 6 wks is up. They are worse now then before surgery. Anyone out there gone through the same thing that I am going through. Another thing is that I did get to keep my ovaries. Now I'm wondering that maybe they should have taken them too. HELP!!!!!

Re: Pelvic spasms

Hi (((acts1614)))

I wish that I could help you. I have not personally experienced this, so I hope that some of our other sisters who possibly have will be able to respond to your post. There must be so many reasons that this sort of thing can happen. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that you get to the bottom of it. Take care!

Re: Pelvic spasms

Help, since I've returned to work or had my 6wk exam, my pelvic spasm's are driving me crazy. I feel pulsating in my lower pelvic area(even in the vagina area) radiating slightly down my leg and back to my butt. It sometimes settles down when I am sleeping. My dr. and I thought with the TVH, bladder sling and posterior repairs they would go away. Didn't happen. They came back, but during my 6 wks off from work they weren't as severe as they have felt in the past 4 days.

I have an appt on 10/27with my pcp to see if he can find out what's going on. I am really tired of this because they are annoying. If you have had these symptoms please respond. I am desparate !!!!

Re: Pelvic spasms

I'm sorry, I don't have any experience with this, just wanted to say I hope you get better soon. And maybe this symptom is not related to any female issues? And the referral to another doctor may get to the bottom of the awful symptoms. I'm sorry, I can't imagine having to deal with that.

Re: Pelvic spasms

Yeah I am having something like muscle spasms too since my surgery, but not nearly as severe as what you are describing. I am hoping it is just because of healing and will go away, because it hurts.

Re: Pelvic spasms

I am sorry it is back, Lyds. I hope they can figure it out and you get some relief. I know that must make it hard to be on your feet all day.

Re: Pelvic spasms

In the recovery room, my bladder spasms were horrific...woke me out of my anesthestic! The nurse gave me a suppository of bella donna and opium. It took a while, but it worked.
