TAH what to take to hospital
Trying to pack a bag for hospital. Having a TAH on Oct 30th. The Dr said 48 hours in the hospital. Not sure what all I should bring with me. I have my momma cloth, jammies, panties, computer, hair ties, phone and charger, shampoo, conditioner, tooth brush and paste. What all am I missing?

Chapstick and an extension cord for your chargers. I also took a couple of books and magazines and granola bars. I never changed into different clothes, just used a light housecoat over the hospital gown when I needed to walk or get up. I don't know if I would have been comfortable having to mess with pjs, the hospital gown was just so much more convenient for me. Although you could wear the pjs home. Good Luck!

Re: TAH what to take to hospital
Hi there!
I think a couple of things that comforted me was some cozy, warm socks and a warm blanket. The nurses said i had to wear the ones they gave me with grippers on the bottom so I just put my own underneath for extra warmth! The recovery and hospital room were very cool and I felt like I could relax better being warm. I also took some moisture rich lotion for my hands because of the many trips to the bathroom that dried out my hands when washing. Oh and a good smelling body lotion for after my sponge bath! You will want to limit visitors as this will be "your time" to heal in private. Many blessings for a smooth recovery!

Comfy, roomy clothes for the ride home. Unless you plan on wearing pjs home. Also I wish I would have brought a little box to carry the flowers with vases I received from my friends.

Re: TAH what to take to hospital
I downloaded audiobooks onto my iPod as I knew I'd be too sleepy to hold up a book.
And I'm glad I packed dry shampoo as I couldn't shower until day 3 post op to wash my hair.
I also packed a small pillow, which I kept on my tummy incase of unexpected coughing/sneezing or laughing. It was also perfect for tucking under my tummy when I moved onto my side to sleep at night 😃

Re: TAH what to take to hospital
Chapstick and a small bottle or tube of hand lotion - hospital air is always dry. Hard candy to suck on if your throat is sore.
A sleep mask and ear plugs - a definite must-have if you'll be sharing a room, and you may want them even if you have a private room because the nurses will be bustling around outside.
Slippers with non-slip soles so you can go for walks around the ward. Myself, I wore hospital gowns rather than PJs, but I was glad to have brought a light, long-sleeved bathrobe to wear for walks. Also, my arms got cold in the short-sleeved gowns.
