Kelcat!
I'm glad you found us, though it's never good news that surgery is needed and it's especially sad when there is cancer is found.
You sound very confident in your doctor and that's important. On this site you can get support from others who know exactly what you are going through and they will be happy to share their experiences. Hopefully knowing more about what to expect will help you have an easier time getting through your surgery.
The ladies best able to answer your cancer-related questions are in the
Cancer Concerns forum and you are welcome to join them there. They are very wise and special ladies!
General questions about surgery and recovery can be posted on the
Pre-Op Hysterectomy Support message board prior to your surgery, and then feel free to use the Post-Op board when you are back home and feel up to posting again.
Some resources which will be helpful throughout your hysterectomy experience are here in these links to the
Checkpoints and the
Pre-Op and
Post-Op Articles.
It's also common for women to grieve their loss of ability to bear children, or even the loss of the uterus. If you want, you can post about that on the forum called
Aching Hearts. Just as on all message boards, you'll meet some amazing Sisters there!
When you have a moment, it would be helpful to have your surgery date in your user profile. You can add it using
this link. Thank you very much!
There are women of all ages posting on this site and I think you'll find regardless of age the support is genuine and the best wishes are sincere. I am wishing you all the best for your surgery and recovery!
s to you!
