Bleeding/Spotting post-op?

Hi. If this is a repeat post, I apologize but don't have the energy to hunt for one. Xo)

I'm 3 days post-op and spotting as tho I'm on a very light period. Had TAH/BSO on June 16th and want to know if this is normal, has anyone else experience the same? It's not a huge concern but curious just the same. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you.

spotting

Hi, I am 15 days post-op. Yes, I have some spotting. Some days it a little heavier than norma, but definitely NOT like period bleeding. I've had some days of simply some wet discharge. On days that I feel like I may be overdoing it I do have some spotting. Not enough to wear a pad even, but it does show up on the toilet paper. My doctor said that as long as you aren't soaking a pad, it's ok. Hope my info. helped.

Bleeding/Spotting post-op?

I had a significant amount of bloody discharge the first day after surgery, then bright red blood for a few days - enough that when I was sitting down I had to sit on a maxi pad. Then after the first 10 days or so I am down to the occassional pink on the toilet tissue. Dr. said to expect spotting for 2-3 weeks and that it was in no way related to whether or not I was "overdoing" it.

Hope that helps!

Jo

Bleeding/Spotting post-op?

Thanks, Tarismi. It helps to know I'm not alone in this. My doc didn't seem too concerned either but did tell me to let her know if it persists. I do find that overdoing anything will induce the spotting but I just can't lay in bed all the time! I just can't.

Bleeding/Spotting post-op?

Thanks, Jo. I'll be glad when it's all over and back to my normal self.. not really looking forward to returning to work (at this point) but after six weeks, maybe I will. Xo)

Bleeding/Spotting post-op?

I"m glad I could be of help. I just have a little story to share about spotting. Last night my bf and I got a bit "hot and heavy" and I was (sorry if it's tmi) straddling him while he was laying on the bed. I was performing oral on him. He was loving it since it has already been a while for us. I don't know if it was my positioning or maybe the tightening in my abdominal muscles, but about 30 minutes or so after we were finished I realized that I was doing a little bit more than just spotting. It only lasted a short while though. I truly believe that overdoing it even a little bit can definitely cause some extra spotting or bleeding. Today everything is back to normal.
