32 y/o no children facing a hysterectomy

Hi. I have had PCOS since I was 17. I have mostly ignored it since finding out. Tried several times to lose weight. 5 months of restricted diet and exercise 4-5 times a week and absolutely no weight loss. Well at 32 and 30kg weight gain in 10 years I thought it was time to do something about it. Went to a gyn a few weeks ago. Went in for a D&C and mirena insertion 3 days ago. Was called straight into the office and found out I have endometrial adenocarcinoma and comple hyperplasia. I have have a bunch of blood tests and a CT scan for pelvis, chest and abdomen. I am off to a gynecological oncologists in 3 days.
Being only 32 and having no children and after lots of online research I'm thinking the only treatment will be a hysterectomy. I have just joined this site to be able to talk to someone. I don't know how or even if I want to tell friends. My immediate family know but it's all a bit scary and confronting. No real questions yet I guess. Except how do you broche the conversation? Can you NOT tell people? Thanks

Re: 32 y/o no children facing a hysterectomy

Sorry to hear what you are experiencing but glad to hear you are open with your immediate family & that your doctor(s) are moving things forward swiftly to help you. Of course you can choose not to tell anyone. It may become more natural & not too uncomfortable to open yourself up to friends once you get more answers after your appointment in a few days.

This is a truly wonderful site to get support from and you should always feel comfortable asking any question regarding what you are currently experiencing.

Wishing you all the best.
