Uti 11 days post hysterectomy

Ugh! I felt the tell tale twinge in my bladder Fri night before bed. Oh no...no UTI now! I have an "irritable" bladder and used to get UTIs frequently when I was young. My mom and aunt had that too. My mom had a standing prescription to treat when she needed. I haven't had a UTI in many many years.

I tried all my usual over the counter remedies that tend to work if I catch it fast enough...cystex, cranberry juice, tons of water. I guess it's not working. Yesterday was better but now today having the pain constantly except not when I go and don't feel the bad urgency. I think that would be here by tomorrow. Thankfully my docs office called me in a script. I'm afraid of getting a yeast infection but she said this drug doesn't usually cause yeast infections. if this is my only complication I'll take that but I was feeling so good and now today this has me feeling pretty cruddy!

Re: Uti

I ended up getting one too. Felt like a yeast infection could have been starting but by that night, I had a fever and my typical back pain. Went to the doc the next day and got a prescription. That was last Wednesday. By Friday, I felt great!

Feeling ok today, and no uti pain, but trying hard to not to overdo it!

Re: Uti

Try eating extra yogurt, or take a probiotic if dr is ok with it. Helps prevent yeast infection. Hope it is over soon!

Yes, I know. I'm already doing that. One dose of the meds and I feel better already.
