pain meds

Sisters I need your help again:

My doc has me on vicoprofen(1 every six hours) for the pain. My pain does not revolve around my periods it is just constant. It does tend to increase around period time. The pain med seems to help a little but does not seem to help alot. Has anyone tried a different pain killer that will still allow me to think and function but maybe work a little better? Thanks sisters for helping me so much!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. The doc did say to keep my feet up and take it easy

I have 2 small children a hubby and a full time job and we are selling our house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pain

Vicuprofen is a good one - I like it better than Lortab - I'm also using heat - the Thermacare products made for cramps are wonderful. You just attach them to your panties and they stay warm for 8-12 hours! Lots of water helps me too and when it gets really bad, Dr. has given me Valium - that won't help you keep your head clear though!!

Good luck

Vioxx vs. Celebrex

Brilion,

I was taking Celebrex for a while...it worked better than Vioxx. Both still ended up tieing up my bowels so that I would rather live with the pain rather than take anything that will make it worse. I don't know if this helps at all. It was worth a shot. Keep posting and you'll find something.

Also, talk to your dr. Tell him what you want the meds to do and ask him what options there are. Knowing what you have to choose from is always half the battle. Good Luck! s
