TAH week four after total abdominal hysterectomy

It has been a month since my surgery on April 29th. This week I seem to have turned a corner!I feel more like myself. I am less sore, not napping every afternoon, and getting less constipated. My incision is healing nicely and itchy. I know that is normal. I'm able to sleep on my sides and that is a big step for me. Being a belly sleeper, this has been hard having to sleep on my back. I am able to walk at a faster pace finally. Not where I was before, but less sloth-like!
I am going to take one more week at home though. I will go back to teaching my 2nd graders on June 9th. The first two days will be 1/2 days to see how it goes. I am finally seeing some progress. I miss going to school and to bootcamp classes. But I will be there eventually. Thanks for listening.

I'm a belly sleeper too. I didn't find it comfortable to sleep on my tummy until after week 6. You'll get there.

Be careful, this is the time in our recovery when we start to feel so good, and then we over do and set ourselves back. Keep going slowly, you still have a ways to go.
