TAH painful sex 4 months post hysterectomy

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy and tubes removed, I kept ovaries and feel no hormonal change at all now, but nearly all sexual positions are painful, the cuff is a little tender but I can live with that what's really driving me crazy is the pain almost bruising type sore pain around the front wall of my vagina i guess it's about the g spot area? And up towards the right side, after having a great sex life pre op this is upsetting to me and I've spoken to consultant and he said its nerve endings healing? But that was at two months I'm now 4 and it's not getting any better, after vigorous sex I also feel abdominal cramping from my bowels and/or bladder for 2 or 3 days? Almost like I'm getting a UTI
We don't use lubricants as I don't have any vaginal dryness at all, but would it help anyway if it is nerve endings?
Any advice would be appreciated, u just want to get back to the active crazy sex life we had before!!

I had a lot of ain post op, which was mostly related to adhesion, and I had a second surgery to remove my cervix, fix my bladder, and remove one ovary. (I switched docs in between my 1st and 2nd surgeries) My ob/gyn told us to use Olive Oil, because store bought lubricants can cause irritation down there. even though I most generally don't NEED lube, we almost always use the olive oil anyhow.
Also, did you keep your cervix or was it removed too??

Hi thanks for replying, I had cervix removed, I can feel it's a little tender when he hits the top but nothing major and it's getting better all the time, but it's the front wall feels like something is bruised and or pressing in? Maybe my bladder? As that feels irritated afterwards!
I've never needed lube as you say, and still don't suffer from vaginal dryness, but I'm wondering whether to try anyway? Does it make any real difference to you do you think?
I was wondering about adhesions, my physio told me that body rolling was a better way to try and avoid them than further surgery?
How far post op are you and is sex feeling anymore comfortable yet?

I would definatlyey see your ob/gyn and see a Urologist. Im no doctor, but it does sound like your bladder could be causing you some issues as well as maybe adhesions. I don't have a problem with dryness either, but my ob/gyn still recommended to use olive oil ( we actually use extra virgin, because its more pure). It makes a big difference for me. I was having a LOT of pain when my husband would hit the top, and I have noticed a huge difference. I also used Premarin/Estrace to help and between the 2 of them, I have noticed a huge difference. Now, I still have some pain on occasion, but typically changing positions helps with that. I am almost 3 years post op from my FIRST surgery, 2 years post op from my second surgery. I don't want to sound discouraging, but Ive been working with my ob/gyn and urologist for that long to get this resolved, but at the same time, I was hesitant to seek medical attention...wish I had done so sooner. poor you, hope to get it resolved before then...havent had so infrequent sex with my husband its not nice, only one position is comfortable, and thats no fun we like to mix it up normally, so its causing me to be a bit down, he's very understanding and careful, but i just want to get back to normal....i will take your advice and go back to my consultant again and tell him i'm not happy with this.

I totally understand and sympathize with you.Pre op, we would mix it up a lot, we still do, just have to be careful as well. Best wishes and let me know how it goes. I would definitely recommend seeing a urologist too!
