how many weeks before surgery did you receive date and did they phone or just send a

the reason i send this is for a bit more insight as to when my letter will appear ,or will they phone first,i have been told that my date has been expedited,(means promptly,or much sooner).so they say it could be any time.i am on a 3months and less list.but they say i will be in well before the guaranteed date.so i am as you can imagine it doesn,t help with the stress, any ideas? thanks saph

I was able to schedule my surgery the same day that my dr and I agreed on the hyster, which was a month later.

I just went in to talk to my dr yesterday (the 19th) and he scheduled my pre-op on the 29th and the hyst will be on the 31st. I was shocked. I thought it would be longer of a wait. Although I am in so much pain, I would go in tomorrow if I had the option. By the way, lizel, why are you having your hyst?

My second ultrasound was scheduled for late January. Mid January, the pain from the cyst became constant and my period was extremely heavy with lots of large clots. After the ultrasound showed no improvement, my surgery was scheduled for 9 days later.

I already knew that surgery was a possibility, but that was pretty quick!!

i am having it because i have endo with bleeding for 3 weeks a month,and constant pain,i have had problems from day 1 of my periods,when i was 12,i have had numerous treatments none successful.then i had 3 kids,my last one an c section.lost 4 pints of blood.complete uterine rupture,which took 2.5hrs to stitch up so thats left adhesions everywhere,and one polycystic ovary.so thats why it,s being done.thankyou for your messages

I was told in April That I needed surgery. They told me it won't be done before the end of July but will be before December. The wait is terrible

When I signed the papers for my surgery...I got a letter in the mail about 12 days later. Most have it done in a month from when they sign. As my doctor has a very big client list, it was almost 2 months before my surgery. I so glad I had it done. LAVH/BSO 8/15

That has to be the worst not knowing at all when you are going in the castle has to be the worst. When I had my appt. with my obgyn I knew the date before I left the office. I just have to wait until they phone me the day before to let me know what time. I will have my preop appt about a week before my surgery. I hope that everything goes well for you

my surgery was scheduled about 1 month from my diagnostic laporoscopy. I too have adhesions everywhere which have attached my parts to my abdominal wall. Thats why I'm having surgery. I can't wait either.

I had my consult with the doctor and she told me that she does surgery on Wednesdays and for me to go home and talk with my family and decide on a date. I called a couple of days later and asked them if they had August 31st available and the scheduler told me yes and it was scheduled right then while I was on the phone. She called me back about a week later and told me that my pre-op with the hospital and the doctor would be on August 29th and also told me to be at the hospital for surgery at 5:30am for a 7:30am surgery. I've had about 4 weeks to "prepare" myself, so of course I've been a nervous wreck the whole time...Now, a week from today I will already be in my room after recovery...YIKES!!
