I found it extremely hard to stand up straight for quite a while. It took real concentration! Before leaving hospital, I was told it was very important to make that effort. Also, yes, doing the smallest things at this moment in time can be exhausting.

Twelve days is still early in your recovery ~ this is major surgery and takes a real toll on the body. Try to rest as much as possible. Don't hesitate to contact your doctor if there's anything you're really concerned about.

Wishing you a smooth recovery!

I know what you mean! I want to do everything I did before. I'm not ready.Little things wear me out. To much activity even walking leaves me feeling drained. My arms even feel weak at times. That's when we need to hit the couch, put our legs up and REST!
As for the walking, I'm slow and walk holding my stomach. It's still a little tender and so heavy. Go figure you take all that out and now it's heavy.lol
All the abdominal mucles are trying to heal. Your body needs time to adjust. It's gonna happen as long as we follow DR orders.

Thank you all for responding! I feel better (mentally!) after hearing what you all had to say. I was feeling bummed out because my son is graduating from high school on the 26th, and I wanted to have so many things accomplished. I just keep telling myself that if things don't get done, it's not the end of the world!
