I'm ready

I am brand new to this site and I can tell you that I already LOVE it here. I will be having my surgery on May 13 at 8:00 am. I am a teacher's aide and my bleeding has made work almost unbearable. Good thing I work in a classroom that has it's own private bathroom!

I started having two periods a month a year ago March. It all started on Spring Break in FL. I'll never forget it. Months of dealing with that. Also, large..and I mean LARGE clots started being a problem. Then ultrasound. Diagnosed with the fibroids and thickened uterine walls. Put on BC pills. No help there. Went to specialist and he told me surgery would probably best bet since I am 39 (April 6 . Said my uter. is between 2 and 3 months preg. size. But, I decided to try pills one more time.

After three days of no bleeding during the "period week" of pills I thought I had the thing beat. Then one day I was helping in a different teacher's classroom and I stood up and thought I'd never make it to the bathroom in time. Passed a 4 inch (at least) clot. Then the heavy bleeding and clots started worse than they had ever been. Also the bloating, cramping, back pain, etc.

That's when I decided it was DEFINITELY time for surgery. I am looking forward to having this done although I must admit I have a case of the nerves. At least I know I do okay with general anesth. I had gallbladder out in November.

Also, not used to being sick and needing others. I will have to get over that. I know hubby and kids will help. Parents and friends too. With Gods help I'll get through this and be in a much better place physically and mentally.

So great to find this supportive place where we can lift each other up. Thanks for letting me share.

Take care everyone.

I'm ready

Hystersisters is a great place to get hyst related info, and share experiences and support.

Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. The ladies here are wonderful with sharing

Also, it would be helpful if you would add your surgery date to your profile and it would add you to the best wishes list for that day.

thanks

Thanks for the warm welcome. I appreciate it so much. I thought I had added my date of surgery but maybe I did it wrong. It will be Friday, May 13 at 8:00 a.m. (Friday, the 13th haha).

Anyway, I look forward to sharing and listening with/to my Hyster Sisters.

Have a great day!
