Almost 3wks post op - feel like I've got a stitch - normal?

Hello,
It's now almost 3wks post op and I'm deliberately taking it easy. But I've noticed if I'm upright for more than an hour or so, I get a feeling like a stitch (like u get if you run after eating etc). Is this normal or something I should be worried about?

Also, the area where they put the needle in the back of my left hand still feels very bruised and sore - is this normal? How long will it take to heal?

Re: Almost 3wks post op - feel like I've got a stitch - normal?

Hi Smidgett,

I had a TAH the day before your surgery, and I too feel 'stitchy' if I sit upright for very long. Things are still healing in there. I try to recline a lot . And today is a bit of a 'swelly' day, so I've got a cold pack on my lower abdomen to help it feel better.

Re your hand -- I didn't have that bruising -- but the puncture mark on my right hand just healed up in the last couple of days! I was surprised at how long it took, given how small it was.

My hand was sore about 3 weeks after op. After reading your post today I checked my hand and no soreness.

I too had a TAH 3 weeks ago. Started out as d'vinci but had to be converted. I get a lot of pulling when I am up for too long. Didn't have issue with my hand, bc I had them put IV in the underneath of my forearm. To me its the most comfortable. Hope u guys feels better soon!!

Im one week post op. I don't have the stitch problem, but my left hand is sore and my forearm is weak...almost heavy. . .very aggravating. I don't have the pull you do when I'm up too long, but what I am getting is a teeny pocket of air behind the cuff that makes me feel it's not right in there somehow...I have to kind of rock away little bubbles...it's creepy.

I'm just about 5 weeks and the stitch symptom finally went away this week. Still tender but I can stand up straight now!
