You have a double-whammy - not only do you have to have major surgery, you have very little time to adjust to the idea. I fought various gynecologists for four years before I finally felt so awful I agreed to have a hysterectomy, and gave myself over three months to really accept the idea. After some complications first week, I feel about 95% of normal at nearly six weeks. Still a little worried about re-establishing sex, but the preliminaries look promising in that direction. So your anxiety is completely understandable. Do something you really want to do today - get out to a movie, get your hair cut, have a nice meal (or ice cream) out. Good luck!
