Questions after hyst.

I had a full hysterectomy on Jan. 21st. It is two weeks later and I still can't walk around too much or bend to pick things up without pain in the pelvic area, legs and vag. cuff area. Is this normal? Is it also normal that I can't still lay on either of my sides. I can only sleep on my back. So needless to say, I am having a hard time sleeping at night. Lastly, is their stitches inside where the vaginal cuff is? May sound real stupid but I thought that is what my doctor told me. I am reading that there is none. Which is correct? I had laproscopic, davinchi, and vaginal work.

Re: Questions after hyst.

Hi, I'm almost 4 weeks post op from dVH/RALH and am just now able to lay on my sides with any kind of comfort. Just this last week bending over became easier also. I was never told about stitches nor was my husband. I just assume after having seen a dvh on you tube that there are stitches. It's really amazing the difference a week can make in how you feel. Hang in there, hugs and prayers.

Re: Questions after hyst.

Well I had a TAH 4 weeks ago and your not supposed to bend down you have to use your legs. Bend your legs I mean. The pain is normal at times I felt my stomach never belonged to me. As for side sleeping I was able 2 from 2 weeks with the help of pillows one under tummy and one between legs. Now at 4 weeks I no longer need pillows. But you are early days yet

Re: Questions after hyst.

This is all good to know. Thank you for getting back to me. It seems like where I am at and what I am feeling is normal. I am glad it is Winter and not much is going on. I can't wait for Spring and esp. Summer. I'm just thankful this is behind me. Best of luck with both of your recoveries!!
