How do you know if you've over done it post Op?

Its been 17 days since surgery (da vinci). Feeling more twinges & soreness the past few days. Just read about adhesions and now nervous about getting them and not healing properly.

How do you know if you're over doing it?

Thank you ladies!

Re: How do you know if you've over done it post Op?

Hi, symptoms can range from tightness to pain to spotting to clots. I say a little discomfort is normal but if it hurts more than that, don't do it. Nothing is worth setting back your recovery. The bad thing is, the further along in your recovery, the better you'll feel and the more you want to do. It's important to remember until the doctor releases you, the restrictions are the same regardless.

Re: How do you know if you've over done it post Op?

Hi! We had our surgeries on the same day and I had the same question! So interesting, I have some new twinges on my lower right side, but my post-op is tomorrow and I can't wait to see my surgeon. I do think I've probably overdone it a bit because I've been feeling so great, but maybe not. Let's be patient with ourselves and see what our doctors think!! Just rest more, drink more water, and if you need an ibuprofin - then take it!

Good luck!

Jean

Thanks ladies! I've been trying to be good. Now tonight I start bleeding red, its been brown lately of course. Will be so glad when the healing process is OVER! Really makes me re-think the tummy tuck idea, LOL
