day 4 no bm. took mom last night still nothing

I took 2 tablespoons of mom last night and still nothing but gas. Sat night I ate a real dinner so I knew I have stuff I'm there. I will up the dose tonight and hope that works

have you tried warm prune juice? thats the only thing that gave me relief. i used several laxatives and stool softeners with no help! its worth a try!!

I had surgery the day before you and had my first BM last night, so hopefully it'll happen soon for you, too.

I've been taking two stool softeners/day, plus drinking prune juice and eating dried apricots and bran muffins. I did take some MOM yesterday afternoon as well. I really think it just takes time, and that there isn't one magic remedy. Walking around and drinking water are also important to get things moving. Good luck - it will happen!

I'm trying bran. I tried prune juice made me vomit so i haven't tried it again. I'm not having constipation pain yet.

They had me do 2Tbs of mom 2 times a day. You may want to contact them if you've not had movement by tomorrow to see if they recommend other treatment. There is some stuff called go lightly. The name is VERY MISLEADING. They can prescribe that and you will go. My bowel was temporarily paralyzed post op an that stuff made me go! And after you get going, I would still take some mom for a few days. I'm still using it. They told me it wouldn't harm me to do so

I was taking a couple stool softeners a day and getting a little bit if movement. My mom came over with a gallon of distilled water and a lemon.... I drank a little more than half the gallon thoughout the day with a couple lemon slices... And the next day the gate opened I dont know for sure if thats what helped ..... But I felt like a million bucks after

Took 4 tbls of mom last night I feel urge but it hurts to push. Ugh

I didn't have to push much at all with the mom at that dose. Take 2tbs this morning if it hasn't worked yet. This will prob give you multiple trips to the bathroom! If you do have to push, hold a pillow on your stomach and push consistently but gently. No sudden push. This way, it won't hurt as bad.

Have you called your doctor for a suppository or an enema? My doctor prescribed both and I chose to do the suppository in the hospital. After that, I drank 2 cups of prune juice at once to keep me cleaned out. Other ideas other than the prune juice are warm apple sauce mixed with prune juice, senna tea, coffee, kiwis, prunes or dried apricots and anything that has fiber. Make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water as all that fiber needs the water to keep things soft. Another idea is Miralax. I hope something suggested works.
