Burning Scar anyone???

Hi all I had my surgery about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Everything went well except for sone unknown infection and fever for almost 2 weeks. Thats all gone now. Basically I feel very well . I have since the surgery. My question is does any one feel like there scar and the area around it is on fire? My skin burns. My Dr said its nerve ending healing. Ouch. But if this is all I have too deal with it's all good. Anyway if anyone had that I would like to know how long this last. Well ladies you all enjoy your days.

Burning Scar anyone???

Dear lunaticb5....

My scar felt that way off and on and occasionally still does. I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and it feels much better now. I did find, however, that a cool ice pack on the area several times a day was helpful.

Hope the fire goes out soon!!

Have a good day!

Burning Scar anyone???

Yep, it'll be 4 weeks for me soon and my skin feels like it's on fire or badly sunburned. I'm quite miserable, but all looks fine....weird.

Burning Scar anyone???

Hello,

It is funny, in one of those weird funny but not funny ways , but this has been almost the only pain I've had from my surgery.

It happens along my incisions and inside, but not very deep, between two of them. I also have numbness there on my abdomen.

It is a sharp, burning, shooting sensation and hurts mostly when I cough or laugh too hard or move suddenly. Also if I press on the area.

The pain pills help but I have noticed it more when I switched from oxycodone to hydrocodone and if I don't take anything.

I think it is part of the healing nerves since the description fits for nerve pain.

Burning Scar anyone???

I'm a little over a year post op and mine is still numb in a few areas. I remember mine having that burning feeling for a few months after surgery. I think it's just the healing process.
