4 weeks 1 step forward 4 steps back
I am 4 weeks now, not doing well. I had to go to DR last week,
was having bad pain in lower ab and back. Also felt cold all day
and sick to my stomach. Anyway DR took a few test ask me if
I had been doing to much ( housework, laundry) I told DR that
I done light housework and so on. DR said I had fever that's why
I was cold. So I was put on antibiotics and was told to do no
housework or lifting over 5 bls, laundry, dishes and so on. Still
I feel like crap I sure hope I did not mess anything up inside me.
Dr even sent me home with a note to put on my refrigerator to
remind myself, friends and family, that I am not to clean or lift,
just take it easy. I have to go back to dr this week. Anyway I sure
did not expect to feel this way, and be in this kinda pain @ 4 weeks.

Please rest and take care of yourself before you do anything else around the house. Tell your family and friends you really need them right now.
I was very thankful that my mother stayed with me for the first four weeks - she took care of everything, the house, food, cat and especially me - all I had to do was walk a little, use the toilet and eat. It was hard work and I did not feel like myself until the 5th week.
I know it't hard, but you really need to rest!

4 weeks on Thurs
I will be 4 weeks on Thursday. I have been back to work last week for 1/2 days and full time this week. I had a big (clear across belly) bruise that the dr checked out on 2-28 and he told me to come back 3-11. I went friday and he told me my incision looks great, I can basically do anything I want using common sense of course. The only absolute NO is douching, tampons and intercourse. My belly is still sore. He put me on Estradiol on Sunday following surgery and it has been great so far. The days I forgot to take it, I noticed hot flashes within 5 hours. The only thing i notices is twinges of pain in the area above my incision. I was told this is the nerve endings coming back together. I hope everything is going good for all the girls that had surgery on 2-17-05

We share the same surgery date -- I'm sorry you aren't doing so well. I'm sure you were bored and feeling better, and felt you should be doing something. It is such a temptation to jump right back in there! I drove today for the first time, and I feel like I should be right back where I was on 2/13/05. We just have to take it easy and be good to ourselves for awhile. This time off is really a gift we have trouble accepting.
Please take care of yourself. After all you went through with the surgery, you deserve to recover completely.

I am four weeks too, and I am really sore! As soon as it's near time for the pain meds I find that I am hobbling again. In the morning I am bent over like an old lady. Didn't expect it this far into things either.

It Gets Better
Hi ladies, just want you to know that it will get better.
I was a slow healer and felt pretty bad for the first 6 weeks. I went to the doctor at 6 weeks and still wasn't healed. It really bummed me out. I was still hurting quite a bit and having swelly belly. I couldn't make it through a whole day without being in pain.
I was still very emotional. My breast were tender. I was wondering if I would ever feel like myself again.
I was hard on myself because I expected myself to bounce back faster. I had to force myself to continue taking it easy. It paid off.
At 8 weeks I have been cleared by the doctor and have resumed my regular life. The swelly belly, tender breasts and emotional mood swings have subsided.
So, hang in there. I does get better. For me it was a very slow process. I hope it happens faster for you. But if not, be patient with yourself. You will get there. Our bodies seem to have a much different timeline that our brains.
Take care and know that you are worth it.
-LeeAnn
