scared of bathing!!!

Is taking a shower hard for anyone? I feel like my insides are separating from the rest of me... seems to getting a bit better but I wondered.

I didn't take a shower until 2 weeks after my surgery. I just sat on the side of the tub and washed up. I didn't want to bend too much.

Believe it or not a shower is the most relaxing feeling to your body after what it has been thru! When I got home that was the first thing I did. It was a long one too! when I got out my body felt more soothed than anything and it helped me relax and rest easy. So don't be afraid...your body will thank you!!

@hollyfly.. thanks..maybe its the bigger incision of a TAH. But I'm gonna brave up and try to find a method to deal with the reaction I have.

If someone is available to be in the bathroom, it will help if you drop the soap or whatever. Help to keep you from really bending. I didn't shave the first few times just because I didn't want to over do it and I only had a LAVH. But the shower felt great!

I've been using a shower bench that was my father inlaw's. It's been great!!! I was even able to shave my legs. I'm 8 days out so I will prob take it out in a few days. I'm just trying not to over do or fall my hubby still doesn't want me to shower while he is at work but I do sometimes. Good luck👍

The hospital had me in the shower the day after surgery. I'm glad they did as it gave me confidence and I've continued. I have to say I don't like touching my belly though. It feels weird, sort of numb and sensitive at the same time like it doesn't really belong to me.

My stomach felt weird at first too but it will get right back to the tummy you knew all along!
