Fatigue

Hello... I am 4 weeks post op from having an abdominal total hysterectomy. I have had extreme fatigue and started HRT today. Hopefully that will improve my energy level. Has anyone else had trouble with fatigue? Also, my mood has been really down.

Fatigue is fairly common following surgery. I know it took me quite some time for my stamina to come back. Rest is important during this time.

Fatigue was my biggest complaint post op, not pain......definitely fatigue. Listen to your body and talk to your doctor. Your body is still healing a LOT on the inside. Get rest, drink lots of water and try to do some activity (as cleared by your doc) as I know for me, inactivity made me MORE tired.

I was also told it could have a lot to do with hormones. Keep tabs on it and don't let it go too long (the fatigue or the moodiness) without discussing it with your doctor.

Thanks for the quick reply. It is so nice to know others have been in the same boat. I seem to think I should be better by now but need to be patient.
