TVH Pain with intercousre post op ?

I have been single for 6 yrs, and had a total vaginal hysterectomy/cervix removal 12/15/2009 - 18 months ago. I have noticed that no matter how gentle I was with myself, there was some pain in trying self-exploration with a tiny bullet vibrator or a finger.

I have recently found a new partner, and we have taken every precaution to go slow and gently, use KY Jelly, and lots of foreplay. It still seems there is a very tight ring about 2 inches into my very short vagina, and there is considerable pain unless we just "soak" for a long while, which I guess is stretching the vagina to accommodate his size.

I am so glad to have found an article on here, via google, (not allowed to post link) see that I am not the only one having this pain, as I like sex and do not want to give it up.

Have you talked to your a Dr. about the possible need for dilation therapy? This is a series of different sized dilators that you use over time to help stretch the vagina.

Is there a possibility that in this time your hormones have been decreasing and you are experiencing some vaginal atrophy?
