What does UTI feel like?

I was released 2wks ago and when i told my Dr about hurting low in my stomach, he just said it was everything still readjusting and not to worry. He never did a urine test. Ill be 8wks. on Tue. and i still have pain and pressure in my bladder like i have to go even though i just went and i have to go constantly just to get some relief. It isn't cloudy and doesn't have a smell. I've never had a UTI so i don't have anything to compare this pain to. It seems to hurt worse when i'm standing up and less when i'm sleeping or sitting. I wake up a couple of times at night to go.I thought at the beginning it was bladder spasms ,but now i'm having my doubts.

What does UTI feel like?

A UTI feels like you are describing. Frequency, ugency, etc. And goodness knows the pain. Go back to the DR and have him run a urinalysis. If nothing else, you will know. Take care.

What does UTI feel like?

It's really weird, I am having the same exact symptoms as you. I also have the same surgery date. I called my Dr yesterday and they told me to call my primary care Dr. I'm wondering if this is a common occurance, a uti after hyst. Strange?

What does UTI feel like?

I used to have UTI's all the time. The main thing is the burning when you go. You will feel like you have to go and then hardly anything comes out. I also had a pulling sensation as I would finish urinating. I had not had them as frequent for a few years and then in 2004, I started feeling like I was having them again but my symptoms were a little different. I would feel like I had to go to get the pressure off my bladder and sometimes it would only be a little bit. I also would have a lot of pelvic pain and feel like my bladder was falling out. I would hurt a lot in my lower back also. I went 5 times in a few months and each time there was only blood in my urine except one time I had infection show up. They sent me to a Urologist and she did a hydrodistension and cystoscopy. I was diagnosed with IC interstitial cystitis. My daughter has it also, but she found out 2 years ago. Her case is worse than mine. It is when the bladder wall gets irritated and bleeds. Certain things will cause a flare up and mine has flared up since my hysterectomy.

When you said you have to go to get some relief that made me think of IC. Also the hurting when standing up is when I would feel it low in my pelvic area. One of the main questions they asked me is when I have to go, does it feel better going and relieving the pressure or does it burn and make me not want to go. My answer was the first choice, where as when I used to have UTI's, it would burn so bad and hurt while I was urinating that I would avoid going for as long as I could. With IC, my pelvic area hurts so bad until I get out the urine and then there is relief. This may not be what you have at all, it just sounds like some of the same symptoms. Some people post about it on the Bladder matters of this site. Hope you feel better soon!!

What does UTI feel like?

Definitely the burning sensation when you go, and you will want to go all the time with a UTI. Keep a book in the bathroom and expect to finish it in a few days. Don't put off getting checked out for bacteria (UTI) -- a roommate of mine did way back in college and ended up with a kidney infection. No fun!

Feel better soon!

What does UTI feel like?

prior to surgery I would get a UTI or bladder infection every month along with my periods. I found that I would think I needed to pee, then only a tiny bit would be there, but it felt like I was peeing a razor blade! The best thing I've found that I have recommended to a lot of people on this site is cranberry juice, every month at the onset of the pain I would run out and get cranberry juice and drink nothing else for 2 days and it would clear it up, i've had only one infection post op and again went for the cranberry juice, and it had cleared before they had the urine test results back. Also as much as it hurts to pee, the more water you drink the faster you will flush out your system. If you have a fever though you should definitly see your dr because a fever would suggest infection and cranberry juice can't take the place of antibiotics.
