Light spotting after intercourse

It has been eight months since my hyst and so far so good . The problem that I am having is that after intercourse there is some light spotting. Went to doc and he says that it was some scar tissue, so he did in office procedure and burned it off. Was okay after that, but have experience it again, not as much. Will see him again regarding this. Has anyone experinced this? How long is the physical healing after the surgery? One, two years?

Light spotting after intercourse

Wow this makes me nervous... I'm at 6 wks and just saw my dr.. He said to wait 1 more week before using the pool, bathtub, & intercourse. Said the vagina cuff was still alittle pink and 1 more wk should do the trick. Is that the first time you had intercourse? Or has it been happening consistantly? Was you cuff ok at 6 wks? Did you have vagina dryness after the hysterectomy? I do and am planning on some type of creme. Sorry for all the questions. I have only heard of people early on after hyster that the cuff may need to have the silver nitrate to help along healing. Sound's like you did the right thing seeing your dr after. If nothing else we don't have our periods anymore right!!! YEh!!!! Best of luck!!!

No this did not happen at first, maybe after third month. After the hyst there was some vaginal dryness, a little k-y jell worked well for that. Maybe I just over did things. Best of luck to you!!!

I am having the same problem (see my bleeding post) I am 5 months post op and my doc didnt make a big deal out of it he just says he wants to see me this week. It is now almost 48 hours after intercourse and I am still seeing the blood when I wipe. I have also developed a little pain today. I'll post after I see the doc and maybe we can compare notes. GL!!

You may have tissue growth called granulation. It is a vascular tissue that often grows and causes bleeding. I had that happen to me twice, once at about 8 weeks after my surgery and again at almost one year. It is easily treated with silver nitrate--stings a bit briefly, but it's really not a big deal. It's quite common, and you really do need to tell your doctor about your bleeding.

I'm at 8 months too. A couple of weeks ago my doctor removed some tissue that had grown and did the silver nitrate thing.

I had that done at 7 weeks too. I went in at that timebecause It hurt up there. I couldn't walk more than a block without pain up there, so I made my appointment. A week later it still hurt so I went in again. Someone other than my doctor saw me and said that I was healing fine. I was not fine, but when they tell you things are going the was they should you just accept it and do what you can. I was able to slowly go from walking a block to a couple of miles as long as I took small steps.

Then at 7 months I started bleeding (just a few drops) So I saw the nurse, since I couldn't get an appointment with my doc so soon. She didn't see anything. I told her exactly were it was, so she lookded again and found some tissue that she told me the doctor would destroy.

Since the doc has done the proceedure a couple of weeks ago , I feel like a new person. It is like I can do anything.
