Anyone else out there that likes Effexor??

I took Effexor for four years to help relieve symptoms of menopause. It worked extremely well for me. Recently I decided to wean myself off it (with doctor's knowledge). I felt that after four years the hot flashes would be less frequent and I didn't like the side effects that I experienced when I missed a dose.

There are times I feel I should be taking it because I do still get hot flashess; however, it was extremely difficult to wean myself off it. It took several months and two tries.

For anyone considering taking Effexor, it's worth talking to your doctor about it. I was getting 3 to 4 hot flashes an hour, and that was reduced to 3 or 4 a day while taking it.
