i went for my pre op today...saw my doc first..had regular examination. then was sent to the castle for x ray, ekg, pregnancy test...jeez .. and i had to sign a paper saying i didnt want to have anymore children..my goodness, i'm 45 and had a tubal! legalities i'm sure.

anyway..did/do any of ya'll have to do a betadine bath and betadine douche? i didnt know that was comin! i'm gonna have to get up real early; have to be at castle at 6.00 wednesday.

also, anyone with shoulder length hair, how'd you 'wear' it for your surgery? dumb i know but i am covering all bases here. i am concerned bout that tootin though! hope i can!! doc did tell me my incision will be bikini line type. i guess that's good.also said i could go back to work in 3-4 wks if i'm able. well then. okay gotta go talk to the big fat cat and tell him he cannot jump across my tummy anymore...for a long while anyway!

Never heard of the betadine bath or douch. I had the betadine when I had my cardiac cath and my first baby (33 years ago) GROSS! They put your hair in a cap so don't worry about it. Get a nice shower and relax. Best of luck and TAKE IT EASY!

No douching here either, just a lear liquid for 2 days and 2 bottles of gross Mag Citrate and a couple enemas! I think the douche sounds better as unpleasant as it seems.
Good luck Wednesday

Betadine douche? That's one I never heard of.

I have long hair and am planning to have my daughter french braid it for me. I figure that should keep it out of the way farily well.

I too have to keep having PG tests everytime they take an x-ray. I had a tubal 14 yrs. ago. Just something they do to keep their butts covered I guess.

Good Luck to you LIW!!

I know that when I get my date, I'll have to do the betadine douche and an laxative prep plus an enema. My colon will be whistling dixie!
