Can't sleep!

Surgery is in one week. Normally, I can drop off and sleep well with no problem. The past two nights, I have woken up fitfully and number of times, frequently with a bad headache. Anyone else have the stress played out in their head while they're sleeping like this?

Can't sleep!

Hi minvananne,

First of all a big ((((hug)))) to you. I'm sorry you're having a hard time and waking up with headaches.

Your emotions at this point are very normal. Soon, you will see why everyone says that waiting is the hardest part.

Stress and disturbed sleep can definatly cause headaches. Just rest when you can, you're gonna make it.

I've been caught over the years many times up in the middle of the night, stressed out, folding laundry, writing in my journal, and sipping on warm milk. Try to stay positive, it really does help so much!

Wishing you sweet dreams,

Tara

ME TOO!!!!!!!!!

Anne : (((((((((((((((BIG HUGS FOR YOU)))))))))))))))))))))))

I have been exactly the same way for the past few nights ,my surgery is on May 09/03. So I know exactly what you mean! If you want to PM me any time, I check my mail all the time. I am on the board at night if I am awake too, so feel free to look for me, maybe we can help each other through this. I hear the waiting is the hardest part! Lets hope so!

Stress Will Take Toll

You won't believe how much you will laugh at yourself after you get home from the castle.

I remember being so stressed out and nervous and just plain wanting it to be over with already. I must have cleaned everything in my house.

Do what ever you have to do to keep your mind occupied any kind of activity that you are physically able to do will use up some of that nervous energy. Maybe, it will be enough to tire you out and you might sleep better. I wish I had some greater words of wisdom. Waiting really is the hardest part.

Can't sleep!

My surgery's Tuesday, and I've noticed that my sleep is a lot more restless. Try chamomile tea -- it really does help relax. Also try not eating past 7 or 8 pm -- that really helps for me.

Can't sleep!

I sure understand about the not sleeping well. My surgery is now 6 days away ( 5/7/03) and I am going to be going into it tired, because I am not sleeping well at all. This is a stressful time. All kinds of thoughts about what this means for us, and lots to get done so you can take the time off at work and at home. I hope the post-op sisters are right, and it will be better afterward. Good luck to you.
