Genetic Endometriosis Research Study with Juneau Biosciences
Dr. Kenneth Ward, an OB/GYN and geneticist at Juneau Biosciences in Salt Lake City, is leading a study for endometriosis. His study is designed to identify the genes that contribute to the development of endometriosis. The discovery of the genes that contribute to endometriosis could allow for the development of new diagnostic testing, treatments, and preventive therapies.
If you would like to participate in the study or to learn more, please visit Juneau Biosciences, LLC online at www.endtoendo.com. You can call their office at 801-994-4150 for more information.
The study is completely confidential and there is no cost to participate.

Kuddos to hystersisters for passing on this info so those of us with a history with this disease may participate with the hope of finding better treatments or a cure for our daughters and grandaughters.

Re: Genetic Endometriosis Research Study
I think it's genetic, also. I hope I'm still around to see the cure when it comes. Too late for me, but what a breakthrough for women in the future.

Re: Genetic Endometriosis Research Study
I also think it's genetic and would LOVE to see a cure for future generations! This stuff is painful. I suspected it, but didn't find out until my hysterectomy that I had it. I'm sure Mom may have had it, too (painful periods).

About time! I'm going with the genetic vote as well... too many girls in my family have it.

Re: Genetic Endometriosis Research Study
Oh my goodness what a great blessing it would be to find what causes this horrible disease. I thank God everyday I had two boys so that I wouldn't pass on endometriosis to them. I just had surgery on Dec 2 and my doctor said everything was stuck together like cement. Can't wait to see how I feel once I heal. Kudos to the study!

Re: Genetic Endometriosis Research Study
It's a very easy study to participate in, An interview, consent forms and the submission of saliva. I am trying to get people to participate who have been diagnosed with endometriosis. This is an important study. Thanks for sharing it HysterSisters.

Re: Genetic Endometriosis Research Study
I think this study is important, too. I wish there was something going on for adenomyosis as well. When I'm up & about I'll be sending all my medical records across from Australia. This kind of research eases the pointlessness of our collective suffering. It's a way I feel I can contribute to the future of women who may find themselves in a similar predicament.

Re: Genetic Endometriosis Research Study
wow I can't wait to see if they find something. I have always suspected it was inherited, and my oldest daughter is just beginning the first stages of puberty. I don't want to scare her but she knows some things about my history . She sort of remembers my surgery 7 yrs ago. I pray they won't have it as bad. Hopefully science can help out.
