Surgery delayed - postponed

I found out yesterday my gny/onc is not "in network" with my insurance company, so I cancelled my surgery for now. I have to find a new doctor and start over again. Sigh. Maybe it's all for a good reason. We'll see.

Been there myself.. sort of. It could very well be for the best. Although I didn't have to change docs. I was delayed because the anesthesiologist bailed out, I was scheduled for 1 in the afternoon for 4 hours, he said they wouldn't be done by 5 and refused to do. So that was fine with me (but not when I found out at 3:30 in the afternoon the day before in the middle of my bowel prep). Anyway, I didn't need him watching the clock when he's supposed to watch my vitals and all.

Hopefully you're new doc will get all the findings from your old doc and with minimal redoing of things get you through. Although it's tough, you've also probably built a relationship with your doc. Can he refer someone who is in your network?

Just wondering, didn't ins okay you seeing this doc to begin with? I had to get a referal to my gyn (although if I were going for a routine pap [no more] I could see anyone in and out of network). But shoot, once my surgery was approved everyone and everything was covered.
