Wanting to postpone surgery

Hi, 2 1/2 weeks before surgery and I am really having thoughts of postponing surgery for a few weeks, maybe a month?(TAH BSO for enlarged ovaries, enlarged uterus, cysts on ovaries, endometriosis, and baseball size mass on right ovary). I know that I need this surgery, I just do not feel ready mentally and emotionally. Anyone else ever delayed surgery for these reasons? I am really surprised that I feel this way. This is not the worst thing I have ever been through!.....Thanks ladies for all your support!!!

Hi, My surgery is 9/2 and I am getting anxious too. Especially since our manufactured home was hit by Hurricane Charley. Thankfully, it is still livable, a big tree branch, actually a couple of them, fell on our enclosed porch above our washer & dryer and the ceiling is sagging. Since it took me a couple months to get my date and I've already arranged for time off from work, I guess I'll get it over with. I have a prolapsed uterus and bladder.

Sweetie, if you don't feel ready about this surgery, then maybe you should postpone it until you feel more comfortable about it.

Why don't you talk with your dr about your worries and maybe together you can work through them and plan a date that feels better for you?

I will add that many do seem to have some of these same feelings pre op. It's not uncommon to feel stressed and unsure and very emotional. Please talk to your dr.
