Will this ever end?

Hi! I had a Vaghyst, A&P,TOT and bladder repair.
I still have discharge and have had it since my day of surgery (Oct. 25th, 06). Has anyone else had this?
It keeps changing color from week to week.Is this ever going to end?

Will this ever end?

Hi Countrybumkin -
I had a discharge from the start through about 7 or 8 weeks post-op. First it was pinkish, then pinkish-brownish, and finally brownish, and then it stopped. I think what you have is normal. And mine lasted quite a while, but it eventually stopped. Funny thing is, I still can't give up the panti-liners, even though I don't need them any more. Guess I'm still afraid that I will!

Will this ever end?

yes, it does end... in my case not until 8 weeks. I know how interminable it feels. But it does, finally, stop.

Hi Countrybumpkin. I'm really glad you asked this question. I too had a TAH in January 2006 - but continue to struggle with discharge and the occassionally bloody day. No one seems to know why. We thought it was HRT related, but I've stopped that but still continue with discharge. I feel for you - and totally understand you're frustration. Hope it clears up for you soon!

I'm ahead of you by a couple of weeks in recovery. I've had the discharge on & off. My Dr said it's from the stitches. They should be dissolving for me by week 6. I also had the tvt & have some bladder leakage when I sneeze. Have you had any of that? My Gyn & Uro said it's still healing & swollen, plus with the stitches & to give it some time. They said it takes a good six weeks to heal, & then maybe some more time - ugh! I still have to wear pads for when I leak. Hope this is over soon! Otherwise I feel pretty good. Still hard to get around in a store - not too fast yet.

I haven't had any that I know of when I sneeze(leakage)
but I still tense up when I cough. The pads aspect of all this is really lousy. I understand the part about getting around in the store, I'm exhausted within a half an hour.
I am not very speedy yet also. I also still have to take some meds for the awful days.I'm so sorry to hear that you are having to deal with this also.Keep me posted when you are finally liberated from the pads.
