Anyone have a yeast infection of their incision?

At three weeks post op I thought my incision was opening in several places. Went to the doctor and learned that I had a yeast infection of the incision. She put me on a 2 week, twice a day dose of diflucan, then did blood work to test my liver because it can cause liver damage. Apparently, my liver enzyme counts were high, she thought from anesthesia or meds I was on, so she took me off the diflucan and gave me an antifungal powder. It's been a full week since I started the diflucan and powder and one section is still infected. Anyone else have this problem? I never heard of it happening to anyone before...but lots of things have happened to me that she can't believe (i.e. bad reaction to the bowel prep, FULL body rash a 1 week post-op, developing pneumonia in the hospital...) It's been unbelievable. Although I am feeling much better than I did a week ago, I am still uncomfortable, tired and frustrated...and my boss is asking me to come back to work next week... HELP!

Anyone have a yeast infection of their incision?

Hi There!
I had the same thing happen to me during my recovery over a year ago! My incision did open, and to top it off I also had a yeast infection. I was put on an antibiotic cream that I had to put on the incision, but make sure I didn't get any inside where it was opened!! I know what you mean when if something will go wrong it will go wrong with you. I am the exact same way, my MD could not get over the troubles I had. Hang in there believe me it will get better. I know this is an awful saying but it just takes time!!
As far as work goes, you need to let them know that you just had major surgery and will come back when you are released by your MD!!
Wishing you the best!!
