Leg Pain

Had hysterectomy (uterous and ovaries) to remove7 cm fibroid. I have had bad sharp pains behind left leg above knee when sleeping on either side. All back tests showed nothing causing pain. Possibly fibroid pressing on nerve because in was near back. It's been 5 days and unfortunately still have pain while on side. Anyone else with this problem? Haven't slept a full night in years!

Re: Leg Pain

Farside sometimes pains in the legs are signs of blood clots. If you are worried and its painful then call your dr right away. I had a major scare with breathing and a bit of a swell on my calf I was told to go to the ER right away. I don't want to scare you but I highly doubt it's related to a nerve. You want to rule out blood clots/pulmonary embolism.
Please if your worried. Don't wait!

Re: Leg Pain

I agree with Sonidad... Not to alarm you, but err on the side of caution and call your doctor.

There are great articles on this site and the one on when to call the doctor stated..."Pain, tenderness, swelling, or redness in your leg or arm....call!

Feel better soon and let us know how you are doing.

Re: Leg Pain

I also agree...sounds like it needs to be checked out. I had a blood clot Feb '09 and it's no fun. That was not related to surgery.
