Seazen, I'm Mischief586 and I will be your Sunshine Sister on your recovery report thread. I had my ovaries removed, since they were too far gone to be saved. You are correct that sometimes ovaries can become "sleepy" post hysterectomy. It can take some time for arteries to reestablish connection to the ovaries. During this time you experience menopause symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats. Do keep in mind that this is usually temporary until the ovaries begin to "wake up" again. Some ladies find that using HRT (if they are able to take it) on a short term basis can help mitigate the symptoms of temporary menopause. Here are some articles on the topic:
