Anyone See Their Own Pictures????

My surgeons took photos because I have a connective tissue disorder, and they want to use them for training purposes. I agreed to let them use them, and so I wanted to see them too. Although I am squeamish, I didn't want strangers to see parts of me I hadn't seen myself!

To be honest, I found it difficult to see what was what in there!

Anyone See Their Own Pictures????

I sent a one-use camera into the OR with me and they took several pictures. One of them actually operating, although you can't see much but a bunch of green fabric. My uterus was huge and the doctor tore it taking it out, so it was in two pieces. A huge misshapen bumpy thing with knots (fibroids) sticking out all over. Lost one and half litres of blood during surgery. My grown daughter was grossed out and refused to look at the pictures but did comment that that was her "home" for nine months. Interesting way to look at it. Glad I saw the pictures and know why I felt so bad. Taking less pain medicine post-op than I did before the surgery and already feel better.

Anyone See Their Own Pictures????

My doctor took pics of it and gave them to me to take home. I have 2 pics of my uterus. It looks like a big turkey, all lumpy and hard. He said it was heavy as a bowling ball and the size of a large canalope. I'm just glad it is gone. I am glad he gave me pics of it though. I felt closure having been able to see what was causing so much trouble in my life and knowing it was out.

Anyone See Their Own Pictures????

I loved my pictures - even made a card for the doc from one of them. I wrote thanks for the 3 deliveries - one picture of each of my girls and "The Ute". He laughed and still shows the card to patients who would find the humour! During my Lap last month he took 16 pictures and gave them to me! It is amazing how different my insides looked after being attacked by adhesions. Awesome stuff! BTW I had asked for a video of the lap, but for insurance reasons they wouldn't allow that!
