One week post hysterectomy: can just having my uterus and cervix taken cause hormone problems ?

I ad a davinchi hysterectomy febuary 9th and I have recently started to fell very agitated and on edge I am very tired but cant sleep I am also havng crazy headaches blurred vision shaky and feel very weak I have a bp monitor and my bp is very good its 106 /68 the doc said its perfect so can someone please help me I do still have my ovaries but she took my cervix and uterus oh and I am also oly 24 please help me I have four children I cant continue to feel this way thanks !!!

Hi,

Sorry you are having to go through all that.

To answer your question, yes, it can effect your hormones.

The main blood supply to the ovaries is the uterine artery, which is cut when the uterus is removed.

The ovaries have a secondary blood supply, the ovarian artery, which for most women takes over adequately.

Some women experience a temporary hormonal disruption due to shock to the ovaries.

What kind of pain killers, is any, are you taking? I was given a prescription for oxycodene as well as for 600 mg Motrins. I never took and of the oxycodene and took only 3 of the super Motrins, but I know that the oxycodene would have really messed with my system. Could that possibly be part of the problem?
