12 days post hysterectomy: How much bleeding, how long, and diaper rash?,

I am 12 days post TVH, have bled since day 1. Bright red, drops of blood in toilet, and 1/2-1 pad a day. Been icing every day, only a bit of pain on sides where ovaries were removed. No pain meds since day 5. Don't have swelly belly, but this constant bleeding has given me "diaper rash". I've started using tucks to help with that. Doc says only to worry if I soak a pad every two hours. I didnt even bleed that much before. Doc says come in and see him if I am concerned, but he is 210 miles away. Anyone else??

I had dark red blood for about 4 days and it tapered off. My doc said the same thing about soaking a pad. Try butt paste to help with the diaper rash. Good luck!

Hi,

I am sorry to hear about your bleeding. I would go and see the doctor. Is there a friend who can take you or a family member?

Your health is your number one issue right now.

Please go see the doctor.

Feel better

I would probably go see the doctor if this keeps up. It may be nothing, but I'm sure it's a bit scary and seeing the doctor would at least give you some peace of mind. Could your doctor refer you to a local GYN to get checked out? If not, I would probably make the drive. Good luck! Hope it subsides soon!
