I Got a Repreive/Lupron - IUD, Etc.

Saw my doc as follow-up to ER admission and discussed my problem and what to do in lieu of a hyster. My problem in painful blood clots and if we can get them under control then there's no need for a hyster.

I'm scheduled of a Lupron (?) shot to shrink the fibroids.

An IUD could be inserted to stop the periods and therefore the clots.

or there's a procedure to burn the lining of the uterious to allow blood to flow and not clot.

The Lupron and the procedure are connected - I would take the Lupron to achieve the best results from the procedure.

Hi Pushpak,

Good news for you!! Sounds like the procedure you are talking about is a endometrail ablation. Here is a link:

I am sure you will get a hostess posting some links for you too!!

I did (3) months of lupron shots to shrink my fibroids for surgery. Lupron causes temporary chemical menopause. I got hot flashes and night sweats.

I could suggest asking your Dr. how long he wants you on lupron. Sounds like long enough to have your procedure. My Dr. told me my fibroids would start growing back right after I stopped my lupron and my Dr. wanted me only on it for (3) months since long term use of lupron can cause bone density loss. So...maybe something to ask your Dr.

Best wishes. Looks like you have been doing your research and that has helped you make a good decision for yourself.

Hi pushpak

I am so glad you have discussed other options with your doctor. I hope you will be able to find a solution to your problems.

Here is another one that has articles for fibroids.https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/lin...=browse&cid=26

Here is a link that discusses lupron Therapy.

Lupron will put you in menopause so it might be advisable to discuss with your doctor if he has any plans to use some form of therapy to help ease your menopause symptoms.

I hope everything works out for you. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.
