Pre-Op today

Well I completed my pre-op today and it was better than I expected. I am having my procedure done at a veterans hospital (I am a Desert Storm Veteran) and it felt really good to be well informed.

I asked a lot of questions, a few of them the DR couldn't really answer right away.... but still, it felt really good to be in a position where I was not given "the ol speech about TAH" and then "just sign here" my questions were valid and I felt really good about knowing a lot about what was ahead of me!

Thank you again for making this wonderful site available! If you are a LIW and you don't know what you can ask for they certainly won't "give" it to you...do your homework and find out what your options are and the risks and benefits and be prepared to ask questions.

Thanks again,
DivaStar, LIW

Pre-Op today

Absolutely! I agree. I went yesterday for my pre op, and I had a whole page of questions that I had gotten from one place or another on this site. My Doc said "Great Questions!!" she said she had never had anyone ask those questions and thought that I was very well informed! It felt nice to know that I covered just about everything that could be asked, and I do feel very informed now about what exactly will happen and what I can expect from my surgery and recovery. Good luck to you!

Dani
oh, wish me luck, TAH-BSO tomorrow!!
