Anyone else COLD?

I had my TAH on November 9th, and still have my ovaries. I am 42.

Ever since surgery, I have been cold, almost all of the time. My iron level was low after surgery. I lost a bit more blood than the Dr. had expected. Not enough for her to tap the blood order which was on hand though. I am glad for that.

I am feeling fairly well, taking iron supplement and multi-vitamin everyday. However, most of the time, I am just COLD. It's odd since I have been a walking heater for about 4 years. My DH says my heater was removed...

My mother fibroid, and I mean MOTHER was so large, and had veins through it. I was kind of like a bee hive; I had the Queen and then all of the little solidiers working away. I am wondering if maybe extra heat was being generated from that?

It's really such an odd sensation, going from hot, tank tops, hair up running the fan and a/c to cold and trying to stay warm. Hmm, also no longer taking the pill ...

I was not a 'walking furnace' but I was the warmest at work and never cold when the others were. Now, I'm cold a lot and especially at nite. It is getting colder here in Texas and I do not like cold weather at all, give me 85-90 all year round lol. So, I'm not sure what is causing my cold, the weather or my TAH on 11/11.

I am also 42 and had a LAVH on 10/7. I too have been cold since I left the hospital. I've always been the type to go outside in our Wisconsin winter w/ out a jacket half the time. Now my hubby just bought me a heated blanket to snuggle up in. I went for my 7 wk post of & told the doc about it. It was actually the only concern he had in my recovery. He tested my thyroid & hormone levels, both of which came back normal. I guess I would rather be cold than hot any day!

Me too ladies. I guess my husband was right, they took out my heater.

I have it both ways Im hot then I chilling. Not much fun..........I don't know what to do except get thru it, can't take hormones.

Brings back memories! I had my TAH in JULY a HOT HOT month! There was a week there about 3 weeks after my surgery that I had to take a HOT BATH TO GET WARM! I just couldnt get warm. It lasted about a week or so.. Good LUCK

I've always been cold natured (wearing a ski hat, scarf, gloves and sweats under blankets while my family ran around in just underwear). I thought after my full hysterectomy (removed ovaries) that I'd finally be hot thanks to hot flashes. Nope. Still cold. That's good I guess. At least I know how to deal with this!
