Weird memory

I've noticed around the time I should have my period, I get very forgetful, "spacy"......even my co-worker noticed it.
Has anyone else experienced this? It's happened the past two months.

Re: Weird memory

Since you kept at least on ovary, you can still experience PMS issues. Could that be what you are experiencing?

Re: Weird memory

It just seems like it's more pronounced since my hysterectomy. I still have the normal PMS symptoms.

Re: Weird memory

The blood supply to the ovaries can be interrupted with a hysterectomy. Depending on exactly how your ovaries receive their blood supply, they may have been more or less affected. Without an adequate blood supply, the ovaries may not work as optimally which can lead to new or increased symptoms. As a new blood supply is established, how well your ovaries work can change.

With time, PMS can change as well. Initially, my PMS worsened. Over the last few years, it is less pronounced though I seem to have more issues with my hypogyclemia around "that time of the month" which can leave me "spacey" and more tired.

Re: Weird memory

I know my PMS-type symptoms have been all over the map since the surgery. Since we're still pretty early out, I wonder if our ovaries are still getting the hang of life post-uterus.

Yes. I was experiencing it about a week ago. This was the first time I experienced it, and it was also the first month I've been back into the cycle of things since surgery. I really thought I was turning into a dunce. I was so relieved when it went away. It'll probably happen again this month. This time I'm going in armed, though. The supplement amino acid Acetyl-L-Carnitine can help with memory. I know it helped me when I was suffering a lot with Fibro fog (brain fogginess Fibromyalgia sufferers often get), so I'm buying some to see if it helps this Hormone fog. Blueberries are supposed to help with memory, too. I used to eat them often and they seemed to help some, so I'm going to make a point to eat them this month. I should probably drink more water during that time, too.
